Torm & CSR

Responsible behavior has always been central to TORM’s business and to the mindset of our employees. Keeping the crew safe is an integral part of the Company’s values and is crucial for maintaining high quality in the services delivered to our customers. The same goes for environmental awareness and protection.

Because of the nature of the shipping industry, TORM is highly experienced in key areas of the Corporate Social Responsibility agenda, namely Health, Safety, Security and Environment. In recent years, TORM has increased focus on anti-corruption, supplier dialogue CSR, and environmental performance. As expectations to companies are constantly evolving, maintaining the position as a responsible company requires that TORM keeps developing.

TORM’s approach to CSR is rooted in the values of the Company and is based on our commitment to the UN Global Compact, an internationally recognized set of principles regarding health, safety, labor rights, environmental protection and anti-corruption. The importance of CSR is also clearly illustrated in TORM’s strategic focus.

It is important that responsible practices also make economic sense. By improving performance on Health, Safety, Security and Environment, TORM expects even stronger commitment from employees, decreased costs, and better relationships with customers.
